My .fla file was deleted from my MacBook after an "Unable to save the document as..." error

When attempting to save a .fla file yesterday, I suddenly got a message saying that Adobe Animate was "unable to save the document as 'documentname'". It also told me to change the name or relocate the file but when I clicked out of the message, Animate closed itself and automatically deleted the file both from Recents and my computer itself. I have been unable to find it in the Trash or anywhere else on my computer and I'm questioning if it is a glitch. Nothing like this has happened to any other .fla file I worked on.

(I would show a picture but I didn't have the time to take one before it closed out.)

did you ever successfully save that fla or a version of it?

No, it all happened immediately as I clicked off the text box. The closest thing is that there is a pathway recorded in AutoRecoverFilenames.txt but that pathway leads to nothing.
