My long animation project turns into a 2kb file?

When i was about to continue working on my animation (of which i put an unfathomable amount of time and effort in) i notised that the file says that it is 2kb in size, and when i tried opening the file it came up with the message "an error occured opening the file E/<project location>" i do not have a recover file and i do not know how to make one, please help i am desperate

    for win users,

    open C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\<animate version>\en_US\Configuration\AutoRecoverFilenames.txt and see if there was a saved file and, if so, check the folder location listed

     

    for mac users,

    check the folder (for a file with name recover_) where the fla was saved. if the fla wasn't saved, i think you're out of luck, but you can still search your computer for "recover_"
