My saved animate file and the RECOVER file wont open, it says that an error occured.

So for the past few days ive been working on an animation, a lot of work, and i really dont want to lose this file, but it just wont open. I tried saving it as a .rar on WinRAR then saving it as a .fla and opening it again, but it isnt working, and the RECOVER file is having the same issues. My other files are completely fine, and open like normal. I really dont want to lose all my work, what can I do to recover the file?

to use winrar:

 

rename the fla to a rar

repair with winrar

rename the repaired rar to a fla

try to open that repaired fla

Hello, yes thank you for the instructions! Unfortuantely even when i have done that tbe file is still not opening 😞

that's typical.  in my experience, it works ~10% of the time.

 

in the future, save your fla's frequently with an increasing version number appended to the file name so you don't loose significant amounts of work.
