Need help please - Symbols disappearing in tween

Hello I am trying to do a uni assignment by creating an animation of traffic moving around a site. I am having a big problem with the symbols disappearing during the tween movement. The symbol block often turns white or black rather than completely disappearing and it is only for a period of the animation. It almost looks like they are moving under something but there is nothing there. Any help would be appreciated.
