Need help with interactive animation following cursor

I'm trying to use Animate to create an interactive animation with ActionScript 3.0, but I'm a student with no experience with interactive animation or code and I'm hoping someone can help me get started or point me in the right direction. I have a movie clip of a spider walk cycle, and I want it to follow my cursor walking at a set speed and rotating towards it. I also have a second movie clip of the spider struggling in place, and I want that to play when my cursor hovers over the spider's body (which I set up as a button). When I click the spider, I want it to 'die' and I have a separate vector file for that too. I'm struggling to find any good tutorials on any of these steps, and none of the code I've tried pasting into my Actions panel has worked. I'd be so grateful for any advice or code I can use!
