When I'm using the parental view and connecting the lines into each other, when I press ctrl b the parental view doesn't work. i pressed ctrl b so that my imported psd files could be erased so is there to fix it or an alternative way of doing it?

Can you use the parental view to move the fore arm that is connected to to hand to see and press ctrl b if it's working or not?

    got a chance to test.

first, you have to unparent the forearm and hand.

then you can use trace bitmap to edit the forearm.

then convert the forearm to a symbol

    then reparent.

here's a screenshot of the edited forearm that's rotated (and the hand movement shows it's connected to the forearm).

edit: if anyone doesnt understand what i mean, its the darker pixels that i want to erase. from what i know, the only way to erase is to break apart

    i don't see that problem.

in addition, i've never had to use break-apart to erase pixels.  afaik, you can always use trace bitmap to erase pixels in a bitmap, and for objectsd create in animate you can use edit mode (ie, double click to get to the objects timeline where you can edit its pixels) to erase pixels.
