Object Mode Preview

Hello I hope everyone is doing fantastic 🙂

 

Ok so, about 2 weeks ago I switched from Adobe Flash CS6 to Adobe Animate 2024 and I have noticed a very small, yet significant inconsistency.

 

In CS6, whenever you drew something with Object Drawing Mode on, it showed you a little preview of what the eventual object looked like in a light-blue box. However, when I do the same process in Animate, the light-blue box does not appear. This is annoying because I cannot differentiate whether I am drawing with Object Mode on, and for instance when I draw a character I am happy with, I end up realizing he is not seperated into objects, so I have to re-draw him.

 

Is there a setting to turn on this preview or something?

1) Animate will remember your previous setting, if you leave it ON it's gonna stay ON next time you open Animate. Now if you want it to stay ON regardless, that can't be changed.

2) If you make a selection on the stage the preview box will appear. If you mean appear right after you draw a stroke ala flash, no, there isn't.

In my opinion seeing the box on every stroke as you draw was the annoying part. In Animate, you can tell whether you have Object Drawing mode enabled by A) Checking if the button is activated in the tools / properties panel or B) Pressing Ctrl+A to select everything and see which strokes are drawing objects and which aren't.

I understand that the object preview thing was annoying to you, but I was used to it being shown so I didnt have to check if Object Drawing mode is on. This is why I always forget to check every time I open Animate. So I have 2 questions:

 

1. Is there a way to set Object Drawing Mode on by default when you open Animate? That could be the solution to my problem.

2.Is there any known way for the preview box to appear in the first place?

after drawing, click with the selection tool.  the bounding box will appear if an object was created.
