Objects move erratically, does not undo

I must first preface this with the fact that I am not very experienced in using animate. I have made essentially a doll using numerous symbols and all connected through the parenting tree. With some objects (not all), when I attempt to rotate or move their rotation axis, they move erratically, usually towards the bottom right. When I hit ctr + Z, the rotation/axis movement undoes itself, but not the erratic movement. This happens when I am attempting to use motion tween.
