Original pivot/center point keep staying at the center point despite editing

how do i edit the spot of the pivot point without it returning to the original center point? I click on the shape with free transform tool and attempt the edit the pivot point

Hi.

Raw shape instances don't preserve the transformation point. You have to turn the shape that you want into a Symbol or Drawing Object.
