Paint brush tool being weird

so, whenever i try and fill in some lines for something, all of the other section fill in the exact same section. for example, if i draw 2 lines in their each separate area and decide to fill one line in with the color yellow, the other line gets filled with the color yellow too. anyone know some fixes for this?

you draw a line (with the line tool) and then you're trying to fill it?

well, no, its hard to explain what it is. its bassically mirror. whenever i fill something with the bucket, it fills all of the other things in the exact same area.
