Parenting layers crashes Animate, but only when recording screen

Using Animate v 21.0 on Windows 10.

While streaming and recording my screen using OBS v 26.0.2 64 bit, I attempted to parent a layer to another using the colored boxes hierarchy and it crashed Animate. I did not have this issue before and the only thing that has changed is the fact that there was a desktop capture running.

I have a feeling the crash occurs because of some kind of overloading, but I am not sure how to work around it or fix it.

I've captured the crash while attempting to record a tutorial as well, at 5:42 I successfully parented a layer, but at 9:09 I tried to parent another layer and it crashed:
