Parenting layers in different symbols

I don't know much about scripting, but there is the possibility of parenting a layer that has a symbol inside with another one that is outside the symbol. Something that happens in After Effects, shown in this twit:

Thanks! The whole system is clear to me, it's more of an advanced matching function, which allows between different symbols.
