Please Help layer greyed out

Hey I am a complete beginner just starting to learn anmation on my own and I was making a simple animation and went along making the framesworking in 2's and i went to play it back and it looked fine except most of the drawing are selected in the playback how can i turn this off so i can just watch what i have made as i create it, also i went back to edit a frame and a layer was selected and greyed i don't understand why and when i play it back it is also greyed if anyone could help me out that would be amazing thank you!
