Replacing illustator vector layers while maintaining keyframes

I've just started to use animate and I can't find any option to replace my illustrator vector layers while maintaining my animations and keyframes. Is that even possible? Something like the replace function in after effects.

I've found out all I needed was the swap option, when clicking on the symbol with the right mouse button. thanks

i don't understand what you're trying to accomplish and you didn't explain what you did with your ai file.

you imported an ai file into animate (stage?)

you opted to convert ai layers to animate layers?

you want to do something with the animate layers?
