Resizing stage to fit imported jpg file

Hi, is there a straight-forward way to resize the stage e.g. from portrat to landscape for pictures that have different height and width dimensions?

to my knowledge no, but i could be wrong.. buggy, yet, you can set wmode to transparent and have your canvas much larger than all your images and it wont matter, just set a background image or color from in HTML.
