On the new animate cc update the keyframes are now pictures and Im not able to tell if the frame is blank, removed, or full its just pictures in every frame. How do I go back to using the dots as frame holders?

he means the contextual menu. Every panel has its own contextual menu with a set of commands and preferences relating to that panel. So he's suggesting changing the preference or option in the contextual menu which are the 3 little lines on the top corner of every panel (some call if a burger)

You can also try changing your workspace so your not in the basic workspace... and you can also change to advanced layouts under the main application preferences.

Hope that helps!

This behavior is nothing new to Animate 20. Just click the hamburger menu in the upper-right and select your frame style preference from the drop-down. Probably "Normal".
