Question

Scaling shapes from center reference point

Why, when I scale shapes in the "position and size" menu, do they scale from the top left corner? I want to scale shapes to specific pixel sizes, and I just want them to scale from the center. Scaling from the transform menu does so from the center reference point, but it only works with percentages. There's got to be some simple explanation for this. I'm experienced with Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, and I'm very confused why they'd make scaling work so differently in Animate.

Have you found a solution to this? I didn't find the first reply helpful. Grateful for the try friend! but no bueno.

My Animate just updated and I'm encountering this Top Left issue for the first time and it's infuriating! It's already totally disrupted my work flow and I can't bear the thought of having to use a tool in addition to the Transform Panel just to scale things to the center point as I have been doing for the past 23 years! Adobe friends! HELP!

    1. My transform point was already in the center. 2. If I am transforming 30 objects I don't want to touch a tool and a panel and double my work. 3. This is a detail in addition to my post - I'm actually using the Object Panel, not the transform panel. I want to tranform my objects to precise pixel dimensions - not a percent.

use the transform tool to mover the transform point to where you want.  then scale using the transform panel.
