I can't understand what "Match FPS" does...

In new "Feature Summary" and this article about Timeline there is nothing about it.

Is it for cases when your PC's performance can't display content in native framerate?

Hi mate,

 

Yes, at least that is the intention.

Animate's playback tends to be terribly laggy in the program and this is an attempt to keep up with the FPS while dropping frames, when you hit play.

 

Does not affect anything else. Just how animation is previewed in the program.

Whether it is effective is difficult to tell.
