Question

Some filters aren't working during export

Hello. I've never posted on here so I am sorry if I have put this in the wrong spot. I was just looking for a bit of help.

I have just discovered filters on Adobe Animate. I have made a short 40 second scene and have used 'adjust colour' filters to make some of the background layers look like night time.

When I test it as a .swf file, the filters work fine. But when I export it in a H.264 video format, some of the filters decide not to work leaving parts of the background blindingly bright and others dark. I receive no error messages or anything I have tried everything to figure it out but I am now just completely stuck. I can't see a reason why it wouldn't work.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

The export of animations with filters in H264 does not work with filters. You have to do it in exported from movie, selecting the PNG sequence option. Then you create the video in Premiere or After Effects.

Is that true Sergio? I have a few FLAs with nothing but nested effects and they do render fine in H.264, I don't know how it would be different given that all Animate is doing, regardless of the video format you choose, is generating an MOV file and sending it to AME to be transcoded.

In the last series I have worked on, we have tried to reduce the use of After Effects, and we have used filters a lot, but for them to work in the export, it must be done by sequence of pngs avoiding AME.

What's visible on the SWF should be visible on the video. There was bug that made filters disappear or render incorrectly on nested graphics, it was fixed in v. 22.0.5.
