split motion tween not working

when i try to split a motion tween, the option is greyed out. i looked through the help center and it told me the problem was i had too many frames selected. i tried again with only one frame selected and it still did not work. it also said something about command+click, but that didnt work either. i use animate 2021 on mac if that helps
