Spritesheet exporting error with the preview tab

For some reason or another whenever I go to generate a sprite sheet, the preview tab just does not work and it shows a blank nothing. 

The spritesheet tab does show the actual sprites and stuff that are being used, but on the otherhand, with the preview tab it just does not show up

Using this sprite sheet with the xml then kind of causes an error as well with the sprites not even loading or showing properly. I've used the sprite sheet generator many times and even going to older projects it just shows absolutely nothing in the preview tab. I've tried restarting animate as well but that did nothing at all. did I do something to the settings making this break, and it if is how do I fix it? or is this just a bug that I can't do nothing about.
