Symbol Issues!!!! Changes color of object when I convert!!!

Hi everyone I'm currently working on a final project for my Animation class using Animate CC. I had just finished coloring and editing a character, and when I went to convert it to a symbol it filled in the pant color with black. The highlights on the pants stayed the original color and everything else on the character staid the same. This has never happened to me before so its really frustrating at the moment and I don't want to have to go into the symbol just to edit the pant color. And because its filling with black its connecting to the contour lines so its not really and easy fix. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?
