Symbols not showing

Alright, so I exported a lot of my assets from adobe illustrator to use in this project I'm working on. I put all the parts in each corresponding folder so I know what part is which.

 

In animate, I put the basic parts together already and made keyframes up to a certain point so they stay the same for the animation. HOWEVER, when I want to put in a new part on a layer, the part does not show up at all. I tried to use other assets (symbols), but none of them are showing up anymore.

 

Is there a fix to this?

    that's the problem. ie, import.

    did you use the import option in animate?

      I did not. I just threw them into the software
