Symbols shrink when parented

Hi, I'm trying to work on my film, and last night I closed the file with no issues whatsoever, and when I came back this morning it's riddled with glitches. The symbols for the character rig are shrinking, but only when parented. I tried separating them and they no longer shrunk. Also, when I scrub through the timeline on one rig, the canvas becomes skewed and deformed. I also got black bars on screen when scrubbing, but I was able to get rid of them by copying and pasting my frames into a new symbol (tedious, but it worked). I've had so many issues with Animate and my film in general I feel like it's cursed. If anyone has a solution to the shrinking parenting issue please let me know. I've attached some examples of the glitches.
