Hello,

I would like to create an animation similar to the one used in the index page of the site http://www.guerlain.com - the one that applies to the brand name GUERLAIN with all the little flakes-Does someone know how such a thing is done?

Many thanks

The "little flakes" you are referring to is commonly known as "particles". If you Google for AS3 particles engine you get many results such as Seb Lee-Delisle's http://sebleedelisle.com/2007/09/as3-particles-1000-extra-free/

Creating in After Effects is another option but that's not AS3

thank you both.

I have succeeded in making the animated mask but I am still confused on how to add the particles you mention.

I am a beginner

Google Flash snow, or Flash particles and you'll find all kinds of samples and tutorials.

The reveal of the text is just an animated mask. The little flakes are either keyframed or are a simple particle system like one would use to make snow flakes falling.
