Transform feature - text disappears

When I try to transform a symbol using TRANSFORM > Flip Horizontal the text disappears.  This didn't happen yesterday.  Text also disappears if I free transform a symbol.  What's up ... any suggestions?  Symbol is an object in Movie Clip mode. No filters have been added.

I would concur with Keyframer I believe you're having a registration point problem. Use a transformation tool to move your transformation point to a corner or the center of the object. That should fix it. If you have several symbols within symbols you need to make sure all the registration points are in the correct position otherwise I can throw everything off.

The only thing I can think of causing this is the center point of your movie clip containing your text is far off to the left or right of the MC. When you flip it horizontally, it uses that center point (small white circle) to base the transformation off of. I bet the MC is flipping off the stage view and you have it set so that items off stage are not viewable.
change the center point to be in the middle of the MC and click the option to view outside of the stage.

@KATHLEEN23221206x0hz  Please share a short screen recording or a sample FLA with the issue as it is not reproducible at our end.

    Hi.

I've just run some tests using all kinds of texts turned into all kind of symbols, in both AS3 and HTML5 documents, in the authortime and in the runtime and they didn't disappear. I've flipped them horizontally and transformed them freely. I'm using Animate v 22.0.4 on a MacBook Air M1 running macOS Monterey.

So you might have some problem in your installation or some issue in the version of Animate you're using or you might also have some OS/hardware level compatibility issue.

Anyway, I think you should try resetting your preferences, reinstalling Animate or contacting the team through this link.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

    Regards,
