Unable to open Animate after downloading

Help! I just downloaded Animate onto my Mac and when I try to open the program a popup states: 

"Could not write to the directory /Users/[USER]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Animate 2020/en_US". How do I fix this so I am able to use the program?

You could quit Animate, then in Finder go to this folder:

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/

You can use the Finder's Go, Go to Folder... menu item and paste that in. Once you are there, rename the Animate 2020 folder to something else, then open Animate. That will give Animate a chance to create that folder, instead of having to write into a folder made by the installer. See if that does get created, and if it solves the problem.
