Unable to use embedded fonts AS3 on Mac with Animate V24.0

I just updated to the newest version of Animate, V24.0. I build AS3 training modules as standalone programs, so I'm NOT using HTML5.

I'm unable to use embedded font styles for dynamic text. The fonts are in the library, but whenever I try to set the font style to one of those fonts, it doesn't work and reverts to Helvetica. I can set the font style to any font in the display list, but none of the embedded font styles. I've tried creating new font styles now that I'm running V24, but they have the same problem, so it's not an issue with fonts embedded in the previous version of Animate. I think I'm going to try to revert back to the previous version of Animate to fix the problem.

Yep, it's broken- don't update to Sonoma because fonts also get broken in earlier versions of Animate too. Very frustrating, have submitted multiple bug reports on this and never heard back. I imagine we'll be waiting awhile.

are you trying to use a web font?

No, I create standalone Flash projects and publish as Windows executables for a client. So I'm developing in AS3, not HTML5. I have a MacBook Pro that I use for development when I'm on the road traveling, which is every week. I just upgraded the Mac to Animate V24.0 and discovered this problem. It seems to be a bug in Animate. I reverted back to V23.0.3 and the problem went away, the embedded fonts work fine in the earlier version.

So, for now, I'm not going to update either of my computers to V24.
