Using eraser to erase part of Paint Brush

Hi, I have a question when using eraser to earse part of the paint brush.

The earser tool will beark the Paint Brush into two small pieces, instead of earse the part I want.

Is there anyone know how to fix it?

Inspiring

Select what you have drawn, then in the Modify menu, Shape, choose Convert Lines to Fills. Then you can erase sections of it.

While they are lines they will try to behave like lines.
