using Illustrator files for Animate figures

Question

Hi. Surely a rookie question, but how do you import Illustrator files into Animate and edit them? I have tried a few different import options and the files always seem to be locked and unable to manipulate or edit in any way when brought into Animate .

are you trying to use animate to make changes to an ai file and then save those changes to an ai file?

if so, that can't be done because animate is not an ai editor.

you can import ai files and make edits/changes and those changes should be in the fla and exported/published files.
