I see most questions here have to be about websites, sound, interface glitches or animation, but theres very few like gaming related? So are we not interested in gaming cous theres no money in it, for the single developer, or its because you guys are using something else, i got sort of proficient, in the flash times, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAIFgVCVmH4 i have struggle to replicate this in animate, i do clone about 70% of the action script but after 20 years of using flash/animate i get anoided for some manny old glitches for making games, of course for animation, vector web, and little interaction i agree is the best tool in market always and still is, My main problem is that i could use hitTest in flash like it was gotoAndPlay, 0 problems with collision, and with the html5 it works for me some times, in simple paths, but from 0 problems now i have 47, and i have try other things like enchantjs, construct, buildbox, godot etc. where collisions are still easy, but its hard for me to make the choice to re learn everything, i really want to land in the right place! So in short words, what u use to develop games now these days?! still animate.

Wish you have a great day and have a good time!

You may want to simply use Aniamte to create your assets and export those for use in a real game engine. CreateJS works okay... but if you are going heavy-game-centric some other library or engine would likely be better.

you're making or asking about a game for what target?  the internet?  mobile devices? something else?

for the internet, animate is useful.  for mobiles, i find unity 3d is better.
