What happened to what used to be called Macromedia Generator? What is the modern equivalent of it? ie. if they discontinued it, there must have been something to take it's place, right? What do we use today?

That doesn't exist any more. What do we use today?? Are there any OTHER (NON Macromedia/Adobe) projects like it??
