The program auto-updated and now I just get a blank screen.

    Have you tried to uninstall adobe animate and reinstall it? Sometimes a fresh install works better than an update.

    By "blank screen" do you mean that it's white? If so, the following page might help:

      It's the new minimalist UI and through the aid of Sensei and AI technology, you just wave your hands in front of your monitor and think of what you want to animate and let the magic happen 😉

       

      Or actually better yet, do what Nick said; uninstall (inlcuding preferences ((thanks kglad) and try a fresh install).
