What is more suitable to use: Adobe Air or Flash?

I'm working on a project for wedding celebrations shows (with animations), I have started building it with flash, but later, I found Adobe Air has richer libraries serve me in some things i need like fileStream that used for reading And writing the text files perfectly is i didn't found in flash. Kindly,anybody could advise me what is better I use ( Air or flash)?, with noting I don't use it in internet, only off line , also how the air deal with authoring tools?

Flash can also publish Projectors, so, you only y need AIR if it has special abilities that a Projector doesn't have.

Yes, as Robert says, a Projector is a standalone Flash Player that would include your content.

AIR may be able to read files more easily than a Projector. What file reading will you need to do?

Flash is for the web, AIR is for the web and standalone application with filesystem privileges.

so if you plan to manipulate local files so AIR is the must

Colin meant that your flash SWF can be also read on desktop with Flash projector which is standalone SWF interpreter.

you can develop both Flash and AIR with Animate CC.
