Why does animated gif show mask layers shapes?

I've used masks to animate self drawing lines. Now if I use `Control -> Play` I see the shapes of these masks being shown. If I do `Control -> Test` I don't see the masks. I don't want to see them. Also, If I export a GIF I see the masks shapes in the exported file. Why?

When you do a test movie the layers are locked, and so the mask works. If you just press the enter key to make the timeline advance, the layers are not locked. The times it seemed to work were just when you happened to have the layers locked.

I'm using 2017.2 release. I seem to figure out the problem. I edited the mask layers after I marked them as mask. I read somewhere that this may cause some bugs, so I just unchecked `mask` and checked `mask` again. After that it works fine. Mask layer shapes are not shown anymore.
