Question

Will Adobe Animate Die When Flash Dies?

I have searched the forum here, and I cannot find the answer.

In 2020, when Flash is no longer supported by Chrome, etc., does that also mean that Adobe will stop producing/supporting/selling Animate (the way they did with Adobe Muse)?

Reaally glad that they're not ending Animate. I think when Flash is gone, Animate will shine. I don't think there's anyting in the market that beats animate in terms of range of use.

The entire reason Adobe renamed "Flash" to "Animate CC" years ago was to avoid this issue. Only the Flash Player for browsers is being put out to pasture. The authoring tool now known as Animate CC is very much alive and well and seeing many cool updates.

    Hi mate,

And just to add that it is still used for TV and web character animation. Not as widely as before, because competitors managed to create good products and take parts of the market during the big smear campaign targeting Flash player, but Animate is not going anywhere.

Content created in it is exported in video format, published on the web or broadcast on television.

    no.

it's still useful for creating html5/canvas content and has some (diminishing imo) use for creating mobile apps for android and ios.

Thanks -- that seems to be the big piece of information that is floating around the web -- some sources say that Adobe Animate is also being killed, and you're saying that it won't be.

To be clear, Adobe has no end-of-life date for Adobe Animate, correct?
