Working with a 24 fps animation in a 29.97 fps Premiere Pro project?

Hello everyone,

soon my company wants to start making videos and since I have some skills at animating they also want me to do little animations within those explanatory videos.

So there will be real video clips with people in it which I will most likely shoot in 29,97 fps (or 59,94 and scale it down later).

For Animating I usually went with 24 fps and animated on twos as this is the recommended framerate for most devices.

Now if I render the animation as a 24fps video and put it into the 29,97 fps Premiere project, will this cause severe issues?

Should I rather animate at 30 fps for those "mixed" videos? I will likely use Audio in the animation too.

Big thanks in advance for your help!

Define "severe". You're going to get blurred motion (if you allow frame interpolation), or pulldown judder (if you don't). Either way, it won't look great.

I see, and let's say I anime mouth movements in Animate CC at 24 fps for an Audio file, it will probably be off synch when I put it into the 29.97 premiere sequence right?

I don't see why it would go out of sync. Premiere works pretty hard to prevent that sort of thing when media with different frame rates is placed in the same clip.

Do a quick test using those settings and see if anything comes up. Best way to know for sure is to give it a go.
