Yet Another Drag and Drop issue

Newbie here... I'm trying to convert a Flash drag and drop game to HTML 5 using animate but don't know where to start. The links to a few examples I've found on this forum don't seem to work anymore. Is there any updated drag and drop tutorial?

 

What's the secret of identifying a drop target?
