Question

ACR 13.4 settings carry over from tool to tool

When I open a raw image ACR 13.4.0.872, and apply say a Graduated filter setting, then go to the Adjustment brush, the Adjustment brush keeps the exact same setting from the Graduated filter. If I go from Adjustment brush to Graduated filter, the same thing happens. If I close the image and open another one, the old settings are kept in whichever tool I open next. I never noticed this issue with previous versions of ACR.

I should not have to reset the all the settings each time I go to each of those tools- ideally the tool would keep it’s own distinct settings from image to image, no matter what I set a totally different tool to.

OK, by unchecking "Reset sliders automatically" your settings will be retained but the Adjustment Brush and Gradient Tool share a common set of slider values and are not retained independently. I don't think they ever were independent in past incarnations of ACR. If you are often wanting to use the same settings then perhaps saving a few presets is your solution.

In the Brush or Gradient Panel,  at the very bottom, check the box "Reset sliders automatically" This may help you to get nearer to where you want to be.

Thanks, but I don't want to zero them out each time, I want them to retain their values, so when I go back to each tool they are set the way I left them independent of other tools settings. I am pretty sure that's how ACR used to behave...
