Question

ACR automatically applies lens profile for Nikkor Z lenses.

I notice in ACR under the Optics menu, that for my Nikon Z8 with Nikkor Z 24-120mm f/4 lens, that the built in lens profile is automatically applied by ACR.

Is there anyway to turn off this lens profile? Was used to being able to control the correction amounts or completely disable the lens profile for my other cameras/lenses, but I can't see how to do this for the Nikkor Z lens. Toggling the "use profile corrections" does not seem to do anything obvious.

easy, use a script that converts .NEF to .DNG and then strips opcodes tags from DNG (like exiftool -OpcodeList2= -OpcodeList3= ) and feeds DNG to ACR ... mandatory optics correction will be gone

Disabling Nikon built-in lens profiles is unfortunately not possible.

And it seems that Adobe has no plans about doing it, except possibly for new cameras. (stated by Adobe in this thread in September 2020)

But the Z 8  was released three years after that post, so it doesn't seem that they've followed this up, at least nor for the Z 8.
