ACR lens profile creates artifacts in corners of image

Mac Studio Sonoma 14.4.1 / PS 25.7 / ACR 16.2.1

I haven't had issues with the profile before, even when I first processed the image in 2015. I am revisiting old shots because I can now process them better with the new tools in ACR. Regardless whether the image is Nikon RAW or enhanced DNG, the 2 shots I have of this tree have the same problem. When I work with the images in the current process version, ACR is creating visible artifacts in the all 4 corners (see images). I used the curve to enhance the problem. 

As a work around I was ble to successfully use a similar profile without any issues. I just noticed that the problem happens with the V2 profile and not the original.
