Adobe Bridge Camera Raw

I recently installed Adobe Bridge 2026 on an iMac. It is a new account, I have no previous purchases or installations of Adobe products on this account or this computer. It says Camera Raw is not enabled when I click on Edit in the Bridge tool bar but when I double click on a raw image, it opens in Camera Raw 17.5.1 and the edits are fully functional. How did Camera Raw get there and will it remain? I repeat, I do not have LR or Photoshop or any other Adobe apps. I checked my account, it does not show any purchases or installations other than Bridge. Is it possible Adobe has included Camera Raw on a trial basis, although that wouldn't make any sense as Camera Raw is not stand alone. Confused!

Camera Raw is a plugin which can be hosted by Bridge or Photoshop, in your case Bridge.

How did you install Bridge?

If you are not wanting Camera Raw, how were you intending to edit your RAW images?

I installed Bridge from the Creative Cloud website. I am comparing it to another app for asset management. I use On1 Photo Raw as my asset manager at present, also as my raw developer and editor. I uninstalled Bridge and re-installed it, same thing happens as long as "Double Click Edits Camera Raw Settings in Bridge" is enabled in Bridge Settings. As far as I am aware, Camera Raw should not be opening at all if I do not have any of the purchased products such as Photoshop or Lightroom (I don't) so it must be a bug. A happy bug, I guess, Camera Raw for free, but obviously not something one should count on.

So, are you not content with your free Camera Raw? Otherwise I am not sure what you are seeking help with.

The Adobe Bridge preferences also show that Camera Raw is not enabled and that it cannot be enabled without having one of the qualifying products, which I dont.
