Adobe Photoshop cs6 extended - camera raw issue.

Hi

I have PS CS6 Extended. I cannot open any of the cr2 files. it shows that I have Version 7, but as I tried to update it - stays the same. 

The error message: "if you are attempting to open a raw file from a digital camera make sure you have the latest Camera Raw update installed via help > updates

The error message redirecting me to

I did go to an update and it installed some apps like Camera Raw and Bridge, but still no luck opening cr2 files 

 

Please help

CS6 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 9.1.1.

The CR2 files you have probably require a later version of Camera Raw.

 

In that case, your options are either a) to subscribe to the current version of Photoshop or b) stay with CS6 and use the DNG converter.

    Thanks, good to know, John. So I just tested Camera Raw 9.1.1 and I'm able to open CR2 and DNG files in PS CS6 13.0.1 x64 using Windows 10 without any problems. But I guess I shouldn't update Camera Raw past this for CS6 use? Or is this only applying to PS CC? I am not giving up my CS6 as a backup, lol.

      Sorry, I'm not entirely clear on what you mean. CS6 is not compatible with Camera Raw beyond 9.1.1.

      Specifically what camera producing CR2?

      You'll probably have to convert to DNG.
