Camera Raw 14.0.1 does not apply lens profiles to files edited in earlier versions of ACR

When I open a raw file in ACR 14.0.1 it does not apply the lens corrections to the file if it has been previously edited (including lens corrections) in an earlier version of ACR, When I check "use profile corrections" I get a message with a warning sign "unable to load lens profile". When I then apply the lens maker, the profile is finally applied. This is in Windows 10.

Should this not be all automatic?

You applied this all in an earlier version, but now it is gone?

If you apply to a converted DNG and save, then move to V14, does it show?
