Camera Raw 18.7 severely lagging since PS 27.11 update?

Thanks for the detailed report, and I’m sorry Camera Raw has become this slow. I also appreciate you listing the troubleshooting you’ve already tried.

Since the slowdown remains even after reverting Photoshop from 27.11 to 27.10, I’d like to focus specifically on Camera Raw 18.7 rather than have you repeat the troubleshooting you’ve already completed.

Could you help me narrow down exactly where the slowdown occurs?

• Is it primarily when switching between images, or do sliders such as Exposure also lag while adjusting a single image?
• Does zooming and panning lag as well?
• Is the slowdown present immediately after opening Camera Raw, or does it progressively get worse after working through a number of images?
• Does it occur with images that have no masks/AI edits, or mainly with previously edited images containing masks, Remove, Denoise, etc.?
• Approximately how many images do you normally have open in the Camera Raw filmstrip when this happens?

One isolation test would also be very helpful. Please open a previously unedited RAW file in Camera Raw 18.7 and make a few Basic panel adjustments. Let me know whether Camera Raw is still unusually slow with that single image.

If it is, please temporarily go to Camera Raw Preferences > Performance, change Use Graphics Processor from Auto to Off, restart Photoshop/Camera Raw, and repeat the same single-image test. This is only a diagnostic test; you can switch it back to Auto afterward. Please let me know whether performance improves, worsens, or remains unchanged.

If the issue remains reproducible, a short screen recording showing the lag would also be very helpful. Once we know which part of Camera Raw is slowing down, I can compare it with the performance issues currently under investigation and provide the appropriate information to the Camera Raw team.

All day since I updated PS, Camera Raw (which last updated 7 days ago) is running probably the slowest I have ever experienced. It’s unmanageable. I tried dialing back to the version of PS that was working just fine yesterday and there was no improvement. I am SO TIRED of constant issues. AI features are super cool and all but I really REALLY just want the normal stuff to work at speeds that don’t make galleries take 14 business months.

Just to be clear and so no one thinks I am confused - it is CameraRaw that is lagging - I haven't even tried to use PhotoShop today but the only thing different since yesterday is the PS update to 27.11. CameraRaw is on version 18.7.
