Camera Raw appears unexpectedly when launching Photoshop

Suddenly, when I launch Photoshop (2023) Camera Raw shows up and blocks access to Photoshop. I need to work! This is frustrating. No options to quit Camera Raw and it won't let me go to Photoshop.

Mac OS Version 13.0.1 (22A400)

 

Thank you for any help. How do I quit Camera Raw?

Try resetting your ACR preferences, better?
Hold down the Command key and select Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw (MacOS) or hold down the Ctrl key and select Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw (Windows).
Click Yes in the dialog that asks "Delete the Camera Raw Preferences?"

Thanks for the suggestion... which I followed, but without success. Deleting the preferences didn't eliminate CameraRaw from opening on top of Photoshop and not allowing me to quit either app. What did work was contacting Adobe support via chat. The tech sent me a removal tool for CameraRaw. I no longer have the problem -- or CameraRaw.

Then how will you open (render) raws without Camera Raw?
