Question

Camera RAW not reading Canon 90D Data Correctly

I set my Canon 90D WB to 5500K and ACR reports it as 5600K. Set to 5700K ACR reports at 5800K. ACR reports all K settings 100 higher than set. I am using "Adobe Standard Color" and "As Shot".

Also, ACR reports TINT at +13 to +17. My 80D however is right-on in ACR!

Canon Tech Support says to open in Digital Photo Professional 4 and see what it says.... Perfect data read!!

5500K and Tint "0".  Both 90D and 80D are correctly read in DPP 4 so the problem is with ACR and the 90D.

How can I get Adobe to revise or update their handling of the RAW Data from the 90D ?

This is causing me all kinds of trouble with white balance, magenta/green, and Kelvin settings!!!!

It's to be expected, CCT values define a large range of possible colors. All raw converters will provide differing values too, don't get caught up in specific numbers. Here's an example visually to show the same raw being shown differing CCT values:

Color Temperature is off a bit but the TINT values are way off. Camera RAW has no problem getting everything 100% correct on 80D files. Adobe can fix this, they just are not paying any attention to this for some reason!!!
