Question

Camera Raw opens to blank screen and no "Open Image" button

Greetings, this issue arose withing the past month or so as I have not had an issue previously. When dragging CR2 files to Photoshop to open and process images, the Camera Raw window appears with only a grey screen and no button to open in Photoshop. Additionally, dragging multiple files produces the same issue, and no filmstrip below of the images imported. If I hit Esc, it will close. If I hit enter, it will open to a grey screen in Photoshop, and will occasionally open the image selected. I've included a screen recording of the issue.

Hi @beefynerd

Welcome to the Community! We're here to help; Let's try to fix this.

Which version of Photoshop and Camera Raw are you using? Have you tried checking with JPEG files?

Verify that your version of Photoshop is compatible with the CR2 files from your specific camera model. Some older versions of Camera Raw may not support newer camera models, resulting in compatibility issues. Details here: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

You can try resetting the Camera Raw preferences can help resolve issues related to its functionality. Hold down the Shift + Alt + Ctrl keys while launching Photoshop to reset the preferences. A dialog box asks if you want to delete the Camera Raw settings. Confirm the action and see if it resolves the issue.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Ranjisha

Hey Ranjisha,

Camera Raw version is 15.4.1.1510, and Photoshop version is 24.6.0. This issue is also present with JPEGs. I have verified this version works with my camera, a Canon EOS 6D, which has been compatible since version 7.3 according to the link you provided.

I attempted resetting the Camera Raw settings, it did not fix the issue.
