Camera Raw stopped working with last Photoshop Update to Version 25.11.0 on Windows

Hello,

it seems like since the last update of Photoshop to Version 25.11.0 Camera Raw stopped working.
When trying to use the shortcut or opening it from the dropdown menu (Filter > Camera Raw Filter), it seems something is happening, however the camera raw window itself is not visible at all.
How do I get to that conclusion? When using the shortcut, the options to edit the image itself disappear - plus when using the ESC key they reappear.
So it seems like the window is somehow open but not visible?!

Is there anything I can do? Anyone else got that issue?

Thanks in advance.

Just returned my own thread, as I got the problem once again.

Here's an the solution which worked for me (without resetting PS completely):

Changing the screen resolution

  • Open the settings by pressing the Win + I key combination or by clicking on the gear icon in the Start menu.
  • Click on System. This opens the System settings page.
  • Click on Display. You will see it in the bar on the left-hand side of the window.
  • Click on the drop-down menu under Screen resolution and select a smaller or the highest resolution possible.
The size of the windows will be adjusted and you can press the Alt and Tab keys to activate the missing window and move it to the desired position.
  • Then change the screen resolution back to the original resolution.

Hope this helps anyone else.

In Help/GPU compatibility, is the GPU properly recognized?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the GPU is recognised (Iris Xe), just in case it was this I had the video driver updated but nothing works. I have an old PC with CS6 on that I can use for non-Canon RAW files, but Photoshop CC RAW seems to be fundamentally broken on Dell Latitude 7430 laptops with Iris Xe beyond v24. I suspect that the RAW edit window is in some virtual space that I can't access by plugging in a single HDMI screen, I'll see if someone has a USB monitor that I can plug in at the same time to see if that can find the missing window. Macs used to have a thing where you could force various virtual screens forward to play Quicktime files on specific windows, but I don't think anything similar ever existed for Windows.

Have you reset the Camera RAW preferences file?

I have this problem, the RAW window is not visible in Photoshop 25.12.0 after an update. Pressing Escape opens the image, but I can't edit it in RAW so it's pointless. I've reset the preferences, turned off the GPU, tried to open the files in Bridge, nothing works. This is a locked-down work laptop so my options for moving or replacing files are zero. Plugging the laptop into a second monitor does nothing and I'm out of ideas with a million files to edit. My only thought is that Photoshops preferences are not actually being deleted on closure despite my ticking the box for it to do so. Anyone?

I've resetted Photoshop completely, now it magically works again.
