Question

Color balance issue between LrC and Ps due to conflicting versions of Camera Raw

MacOS 12.5

Creative Cloud says I'm up to date on all my apps:

Photoshop 23.4.2

Lightroom Classic 11.4.1

Camera Raw "up to date"

However, when I open a photo in Photoshop from Lightroom, I get a warning that the versions of Camera Raw are incompatible.  Lightroom says it is using Camera Raw 14.4.1 while Photoshop says it is using 14.4.0.1121.  If I open the file anyway, it looks fine in Photoshop, but when I save it back in Lightroom the colors are off.

The first file below (sample.jpg) is as seen in Lightroom.  The second file (sample-edit.jpg) I opened in Photoshop, cloned a little grass onto the girl's shoe (but did no other changes), then saved back in Lightroom.

See: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/p-mac-camera-raw-mismatch-being-reported-from-lrc-11-4-1/m-p/13042065#M280721

It is a known bug. 14.4. is the latest version of ACR for Mac, there was a .1 that is only a fix for one bug under Windows. So it seems LR is confused by this fact and at the time, I don't know there is anything you can do until LR is updated (or ACR for Mac). All the downloads manually for ACR are here: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html#12_x

Until fixed, just use the "Render using Lightroom' option.

I just updated to the latest-greatest (LrC 11.5 [ 202208080927-8a575c91 ], Ps 23.5.0 20220809.r.669 0e07917 x64, and Camera Raw) and the problem persists.

Because you'll need a newer version of ACR when the fix arrives.

ust choose"Render using Lightroom" until this is fixed.
